17 Essential Element Certification Assessments Flyer Details
Students are now able to become SkillsUSA Certified in each of the 17 Essential Elements.
The SkillsUSA Framework Essential Elements represent the skills most-demanded by industry employers for the highest-quality workplaces. These skills matter so much in the program deliverables of SkillsUSA that all programs include instruction and evaluation of these skills. When students achieve a minimum score of 80% on an Essential Element assessment, they will also earn a certificate to indicate their proficiency. Here are a few helpful things to know about this offering:
- Assessments questions align to the competencies of the associated Essential Element.
- A 35-question assessment is randomly generated based on percentages of competency groupings.
- All questions ask students to apply knowledge through a multiple choice structure.
- 50% of the questions ask students to recall knowledge from the Essential Element e-module and 50% are application questions.
- Completely student self-paced.
- 30 – 40 minute time requirement for each e-module + assessment
E-modules are not a required prerequisite to the assessment but highly recommended.
- The Career Essentials resource, Framework Foundation lesson plans and many other resources will prepare students for first-time success on the assessment.
Assessments are available for purchase by individual Essential Element, bundled by Component or by the entire Framework and each EE course contains (e-module + assessment + action plan)
E-modules = review the definition and behavior of the Essential Element
Assessments = evaluates and scores the mastery of the Essential Element
Action Plans = PDF in which students can apply their learning from the e-module

- Per Component Area: $39.95

SkillsUSA now offers certification courses in the SkillsUSA Framework, Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Instructors can choose between two available certification bundles:
Certification Bundle 1:
Framework Certification + CTE Knowledge Certification
($10.95 per learner)
Certification Bundle 2:
Framework Certification + CTE Knowledge Certification + Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a SkillsUSA Leader
($13.95 per learner)
Both certification bundles are accessed through the learner’s account on SkillsUSA Absorb, SkillsUSA’s learning management platform.
